When the Neil Cowley Trio took time out from their rehearsal schedule for the premiere performance of Neil's'The Eighth Gate' - they spent a remarkable afternoon with a discreet group of our Exceptionally Talented Music Promise young people making music and imparting their skills.
The eight students had a chance to learn simple jazz guide notes, improvisational jazz riffs and ultimately the team came together with the Trio to reversion a song written by ET, Hannah Richardson.
It was an afternoon of pure fun and the youngsters were overwhelmed by what they had achieved under the direction of Neil, Evan and Rex. Evan, didn't have his signature drum kit with him so improvised with a rather alternative percussion instrument - a packet of dried pasta!
