Other Voices Makes a Music Promise

Four host schools - St Brigid's, St Mary's, Lisneal and St Josephs will host the first ever Other Voices Music Promise Academy when industry experts  and keynote speakers will engage young people from all of the post promary schools in discussion about the music industry, Key note speakers will share their expereinces and local emergent and established talent will perform.

For Marty Mc Gill who manages the Music Promise 'SYNC' programme in communities this is an epic opportunity for a new partnership and a unique chance for young people to hear from the experts what creative industries are really all about. 'The schools have welcomed the opportunity to be part of this unique academy and the two days promise to be informative, inspirational and very memorable for the hundreds of youngsters taking part'

Each school will welcome keynote speakers such as the acclaimed concert producer John Kennedy whose past ventures include working as tour director for Cork 2005 European Capital of Culture and as tour director for U2 on many of their global tours.Extraordinary creatives like Maurice Linnane are also on the running order so one can expect lots of questions for Maurice on working in the world of film directing and art  or maybe there'll be curiosity about his time spent working with U2 or The Foo Fighters?!

It's all about music, film, directing, editing, staging, producing, recording and performing - young people will get the inside track from these real life pioneers and will also have the chance to perform themselves and enjoy favourite local performers like Soak,The Clameens,Little Bear and Lost Avenue.

This is lining up to be the best school days ever.
